My speech

Kia ora. Are we too dependent on technology? Yes, we are! And I’m going to tell you why. We rely on technology for entertainment such as gaming. People rely on their gadgets like smartphones, tv’s, Xboxes and ps4s just to entertain them self. Yes, they are lots of fun but people miss out on talking and playing with their friends face to face and spending time with their family, having outside time and not get enough fresh air or exercise. They can become addicted to tech and not want to leave the house and some kids don't listen when their mum tells them to get off their device. Let's talk about the good part of technology and communication. Say in an emergency you break your ankle. What are you going to do? You can call an ambulance or your parents or your closest friends to get help from your phone. What about if you’re lost or kidnapped. A phone is very useful to help find your location because your phone will tell people where you are. You can text people and call people. Before you had to write a letter and send it which took a long time. Before that, you had to walk to someone's house to talk to them. Now let me ask you a question. Which would you prefer? I know I would rather call or to text. We depend so much on technology to stay in touch. We do miss out on going to peoples houses and spend less time visiting others like friends and family because it’s easier to use your phone. How about power. Are we too dependent on electricity? Is it easier to turn on the light or light a candle? Who likes doing things in the dark? Not me. We rely on a type of technology to light our house and keep us warm using indoor heating. Air conditioning keeps us nice and cool. Electricity lets us cook bake food and keeps it nice and hot. How about the fridge. A fridge keeps your food nice and cool and fresh. If you didn’t have a fridge all your milk and food would go moldy and rotten. A dishwasher can do all your dishes so you don’t have to wash by hand and dry them. If we had no power in our homes we would have to do all the hard work like use candles to see. And to keep us warm we would have to wear warm clothes to stay nice and cozy. If there was no fridge you would have to have a garden. And that is making more work for yourself. We depend a lot on technology because it makes our life so much easier. The next thing I want to talk about is…. Internet The Internet is now one of my favorite things like looking at clothes online and buying things for myself. Now hey I'm not selfish but don't ask my parents. Now the Internet has an enormous impact like the advent of the Internet has had a huge impact on every aspect of society in the last 20 years. This means that the Internet has changed almost everything in our society. Now problems with your health… The Internet is extremely important in many ways like education and healthcare. Technology can have a large impact on users' mental and physical health. Beside affecting users' mental health, of technology can also have negative repercussions on physical health causing vision problems, hearing loss, and neck strain. Here's an easier way of saying it. You can get douloushionsal or exhaustion just from staying up all night and playing games or watching movies. Now that is very bad for your physical health.your body isn't that strong if you have been lacking in exercise or the easy things like fresh air. You can get headaches from stress. Why? Stress is a common trigger of tension and migraine that can trigger other types of headaches or make them worse. Extra Dangers: Getting headaches Not spending time with friends and family Attached to your device Not going out. Needing fresh air. Conclusions: Energy Power Internet Health Electricity Entertainment
